Josh Muncey has spent over 18 years shaping Boston's real estate landscape, with more than $600 million in sales to his name. As the founder and leader of The Muncey Group, Josh has built a team that mirrors his values of authenticity, integrity, and dedication to helping others put down roots. The Muncey Group is known for taking a highly personalized, neighborly approach to real estate, empowering clients to achieve their goals through expert guidance, clear communication, and deep neighborhood knowledge.
What sets Josh apart is not just his market acumen but also his commitment to community. He is the founder of The Welcome Home Fund, a philanthropic initiative that provides down payment assistance to first-generation homebuyers of color in Greater Boston. This fund reflects Josh’s belief that homeownership should be accessible to all, and he actively works to dismantle the barriers that have long kept communities of color from entering the market.
Josh’s path to real estate began after discovering that a desk job in accounting didn’t suit his passion for people and dynamic environments. His career in real estate allows him to combine his love for community, learning, and relationship-building into a fulfilling profession. He thrives on the diversity of each transaction, whether helping first-time buyers, guiding clients through selling their homes, or mentoring his agents to reach new heights.
A proud resident of Jamaica Plain, Josh enjoys life with his wife, Sarah, and their two daughters, Sadie and Molly. Their weekends often involve walks in Franklin Park with their two beloved rescue dogs, Lola and Charlie, and enjoying the simple pleasures of their vibrant, diverse neighborhood. When he’s not working, you’ll find Josh embracing his role as a community ambassador—whether that means supporting local businesses, spending time with family, or savoring a scoop of JP Licks ice cream. His work is deeply intertwined with the fabric of his community, and he strives to create lasting, positive impacts through every client relationship and project he takes on.
I love the people. They’re diverse, from all walks of life, intellectual and welcoming. I love the eclectic restaurant scene, many of which are authentic. We came from 500 sq feet in Fenway and wanted a bigger space. We started coming to JP as we had a couple of friends here. We fell in love with the parks, diversity, and restaurants.
Ideal Pizza. I love Greek pizza. But my favorite restaurant is JP Seafood. It’s fresh, consistent, and affordable.
Franklin Park. I’m lucky to live right across the street from it. There are walking trails in the park that make you feel as though you’re in the middle of Vermont.
Cookies and Cream or Oreo.
Marrying up! Just ask my spouse. =)
I have been in real estate for my entire career. My first year out of college, I worked in accounting and realized that I didn’t like being at a desk all day. I wanted to work with people. I love that there are so many different components of real estate, so you’re always learning. Buying, selling, investing, renovating, etc. I particularly love that you can be an ambassador to the neighborhoods that you love. I enjoy showing people the great features of our neighborhood. I also love that so many of our clients become friends.
The Muncey Group is comprised of a team of local real estate professionals committed to selling some of the most desired homes in Greater Boston. Our mission is to bring homes and people together in a seamless real-estate experience.
